APP STORE ERROR

ITMS-91053: check required-reason API declarations before re-upload.

If App Store Connect reports ITMS-91053 or a missing required-reason API declaration, inspect the app-owned API usage and the matching PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy categories before submitting again.

01

WHY IT APPEARS

Required-reason APIs need matching declarations

Apple requires approved reasons for covered API categories. A dependency or app-owned source can introduce a required-reason API signal that must be represented in the submitted privacy manifest.

AccessVerdict checks repository evidence for common categories such as UserDefaults, file timestamps, disk space, system boot time, and active keyboards.

02

FIRST CHECK

Find the code signal and the manifest together

Do not edit a manifest from the error code alone. Confirm which source or dependency introduces the API, then verify the relevant NSPrivacyAccessedAPIType category exists in the correct PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy file.

03

PREFLIGHT

Run the same check again after the fix

Connect the repository or use the local CLI, fix the declaration locally, and rerun the deterministic preflight before another upload.

04

LIMIT

Repository evidence is not the final binary

Generated code and compiled dependencies can add evidence that static source scanning cannot see. Confirm the final Xcode privacy report and submitted build.
